Beginner/Intermediate Jazz/Lyrical/Ballet

Jazz class will teach students technique that will focus on breaking down turns, leaps, placement, connecting movement so that it flows and building a dance vocabulary. Jazz style combines techniques of ballet and contemporary dance to create a fun, high-energy dance style.

Contemporary class will introduce students to develop awareness of the body with an exploration of musicality, technique, dynamic movement and proper alignment. Students focus on movement from the inside out, encouraging use of breath, energy, connection, opposition and strength that will carry over into other disciplines. This class provides space for students to bring their own expressiveness and freedom of individuality.

Suitable for ages 13-18.

Class includes a warm-up, floor work, across the floor, center exercises, and choreography.

We will alternate between the two styles throughout the year.

This class provides space for students to hone their performance skills and artistry.

This basic class is great for students who have not taken a dance class before or need a little extra time learning the basics of jazz/contemporary work.

By the end of the season, students will learn a dance to perform on stage at the annual spring recital.

Dress Code: Comfortable activewear, jazz shoes or turning shoes, and hair pulled back from face.
